I know this to be true.
And I was reminded again through a client’s story so throwing that stone across the pond to create more ripples of grace through this writing.
What is grace?
Grace is ‘an elegance of movement’, contrary to a movement of effort, push and at worst manipulation.
Grace is the experience that you have when it feels like life is happening FOR you. And it is such a welcome visitor especially after those times that we all have when you’ve felt like you’ve lost your mojo.
So let me tell you about my client.
He messaged me last night and said ‘As Love would have it, there’s a full circle moment that’s just occurred; I’m excited and somewhat shaky.’
Ten years ago when we started coaching, he made a commitment to stop the suffocating contracting work he was doing and launch his agency and school at the same time. Most people thought he was mad, but it worked. He dropped a $20,000 deposit on an unfinished office in October 2013, he had no funds left and had to come up with $50,000 to fit the place out by January 2014. He was seriously freaking out, yet within a day or so of him making the commitment to the office space, in came his first BIG client. That invoice was for….guess it…..$50,000, and so began a rapid period of growth.
He is just about to do the same with a renewed vision. It’s a bold, public move. There are serious financial commitments and there are no guarantees.
Guess who contacted him yesterday to do more work?
Just for a moment stop.
Can you guess?
That first BIG client of ten years ago.
Grace is doing the heavy lifting for him once again.
Now let me also say that this is not a rainbows and unicorns story.
There was a period of failure and shame that he was pummelled by for a while in the last year. And it was really intense.
But, he lives by the premise that love is everywhere, even in failure and this has brought even further depth to his leadership.
The fact that it was THE client of ten years ago that returned at precisely THE most perfect time is a full circle moment to make sure that he remembers the pre-requisites to grace doing the heavy lifting.
The pre-requisites are:
You must love, value and back yourself wholeheartedly especially when you feel like your back’s against the wall, and most especially after intense periods of failure and shame.
You must take aligned action that you are pulled to take especially when it makes no sense to.
And you must surrender belief that you know how it will all work out.
May that pebble that I just threw across the pond invite grace into your life.

Grace...serendipity...manifestation...many names for the same thing perhaps?
