The Question That Blindsided Me.
And I hope it also knocks you to the ground (in the best of ways)
Some personal sharing from me today. đ
Last week I was asked the question âwhat are you not facing into because itâs too painful OR because itâs too joyful?
When I heard those final words âbecause itâs too joyfulâ an automatic gasp literally escaped from my mouth.
For me, it wasnât about being too painful but rather too joyful.
Ever think that a mere question can blindside you? I felt like Iâd been knocked to the ground.
Too joyful.
I could feel the presence of my Mum, her love and care for me created some kind of invisible boundaries. Being too joyful would come with risk. Risk to my family to be exact. Better to temper my bigness. Better to keep my joy levels safe then.
On one hand this seems utterly ridiculous. There are times where I feel big, expansive, especially when I allow life to flow through me. I am happy on an almost daily basis and I count my blessings regularly.
And, prodded with that question, I also still feel small.
I can feel it now as I write. Along with my happiness, thereâs also a sadness. Itâs not an obvious sadness that walks with me everyday. But yes, sheâs there.
I shared this with the people who were also asked this question. To give context we were on a group call with those on the Sacred Leadership Program, but this time one of the sacred leaders, the brilliant Natalie Simes was facilitating the call. We then idled over to another thread of the conversation; the subject of âbeing in our giftsâ and what was left unsaid about that.
We found an unsaid consensus lying in the shadows that we all felt a âtoo muchnessâ when we are in 'the fullness of our giftsâ.
I have certainly felt that at times. When people intuitively turn up in my awareness and I then receive information about them, I have definitely felt âinappropriateâ, âpresumptuousâ and that Iâve crossed a boundary.
I remember this happening a few years back with my coachâs wife! Not only did she turn up in my awareness but I had very specific information. And I didnât even know her! I mentioned this to my coach for no other reason than to get it off my chest and he replied with this statement âHow could God ever talking to God be a boundary crossed?
In that moment I decided to coach with him for another year. Itâs now been another two. đ His name is Daniel Batten. And, when I eventually spoke to his wife she said âMy guru sent you to meâ. đ„° There was a deep level of happiness in both of us in that moment.
There is risk when we allow ourselves to be âthatâ happy. Here are a few.
The risk being the inevitability that who weâve known ourselves to be in the safer, more controlled, more tempered version of ourselves no longer has a seat at the table.
The risk being the inevitability that some people may feel uncomfortable with these new levels of freedom, but their uncomfortability really is none of our business.
The risk being the inevitability that other people will thank us for having the courage to be âthatâ happy because they needed for us to go first and be a few steps ahead of them, so that they can then follow suit.
I was given a calligraphy of Marianne Williamsonâs famous quote by a client years ago. It sits on my wall.
âOur deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.â
We made a new decision on that group call.
That we can never be too much when we are in the full joy of our gifts.
And so I throw the ball back to you. What are you not facing into not because itâs too painful but because itâs too joyful?
Let me know!
Explore deeper đđœ Specifically for people who have already coached with me
Itâs been a very rich past 16 months. I have gathered so much particularly around our blindspots and thresholds weâve placed on ourselves on how loving, powerful and deserving weâve allowed ourselves to be. And how we hijack abundance that is already here. I have also recently received a very to-the-point directive that we are either creating abundance in all the things that matter to us OR weâre creating drama. Thereâs no grey area anymore. As such the pendulum swings want to stop. Wealth to lack, certainty to doubt, health to unwell-ness, joy to shame - when we place our focus with ârigour and disciplineâ on abundance, no matter the current circumstance, they all stop.
On the back of this very rich period, 2024âs theme has arrived - âUntapped Abundanceâ, starting with you. What is the untapped abundance within you that youâve not had the permission to be because itâs either too painful or too joyful? What thresholds have you placed on yourself based on your own blindspots? When they are freed, youâll meet the next generation of you. Youâll come into energetic, visionary and practical alignment and youâll finally live the life youâve kept promising yourself youâll live.
Having said all of this, I know, and have known for the past few months that I have sacred business to do with some of the people I have coached before. Itâs time for them to âgo againâ, just as the sacred leaders did, and just as I have done super diligently over the past 16 months.
Iâd therefore like to invite you into a 2 month Untapped Abundance Breakthrough program beginning now, then breaking over XMAS/first 3 weeks in January, then resuming. Why now? So that we set 2024 in motion now and you feel the same inner knowing and certainty that I have on the back of these very rich past 16 months.
Iâll also be facilitating a 2 day âSacred Businessâ live event on 6 & 7 February at The Q Station in Manly using one of the most powerful vehicles I know - Breathwork. Boy do we go deep. It really is the bomb. Breathwork sessions are facilitated by the phenomenal Troy and Bec Methorst who have been facilitating these sessions for the sacred leaders every quarter.
You can do both programs (thatâs ideal) or the coaching alone or the live event alone.
If you know you want more, deserve more and are being called into more and you too feel like weâve got sacred business to do again đ please email me or connect through Messenger and letâs chat.
Love,
Gisele
